Spot indices are constituted of stocks with different weight grouped together to represent the performance of a particular market or business sector. A spot index CFD (Contract for Difference) is a financial derivative product that allows you to speculate on the price movement of the underlying asset without actually buying and selling the stock in the index. The dividend adjustment dates for indices follow the ex-dates of the stocks included in them.

With Taurex’s Earnings Calendar, you can easily track ex-dividend dates and spot indices dividend adjustments for a variety of stocks and indices. Please note that the Dividend Calendar is indicative and subject to change, and while Taurex strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information, investors should always conduct their own research and analysis before making any investment decisions. Taurex is not responsible for any losses incurred due to the use of the information provided on this page.

What Is a
Stock Split?

A stock split occurs when a company issues additional shares to its current shareholders without changing the total value of their investment. This increases the number of shares outstanding and decreases the value of each individual share. For example, in a 2-for-1 stock split, shareholders receive an extra share for each share they own, but each share is worth half its original value. Despite the split, the overall value of the investment remains the same.

A reverse stock split decreases a company's shares outstanding. For instance, in a 1-for-2 reverse split, if you owned 10 shares, you would end up with 5 shares. The value per share increases proportionally. If the original shares were $4 each, after the reverse split, they'd be valued at $8 each. However, the total investment value remains unchanged at $40.
